SUMMARY:WEBINAR: Advancing Towards the Unimaginable
DESCRIPTION:WebinarThis is a webinar and it will be delivered via Zoom. The link will be sent to you automatically after booking using the form below.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow can companies prepare their workforces for the inevitable changes that digitalisation and net zero will bring? \n\n\n\nWe can discount the most extreme predictions about the impact of AI and digitalisation on jobs\, at least in the foreseeable future. However recent history tells us that some companies will come unstuck by investing in technologies that undermine the knowledge\, skills and versatility of their workforces. \n\n\n\nWe do know that by removing repetitive and arduous work\, digital technologies can unleash employees’ full potential and stimulate fresh thinking – not least about how companies can become ‘greener’ and more sustainable. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to value those things that humans can do best and to achieve the best possible synergies between human potential and digital potential. And there is much we can learn from companies which have already created empowering and innovative workplace practices. \n\n\n\nJoin us to gain essential insights into creating the workforce skills\, competencies and mindsets needed for companies to survive and thrive in an uncertain but exciting future. \n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Leaders\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPeter Totterdill is a Founding Director of Workplace Innovation Europe CLG\, a not-for-profit organisation created to help public and private sector organisations achieve enhanced performance and better working lives. SUMMARY:WEBINAR: The Dual Transformation and Workplace Innovation - The Case of The German Automotive Industry
DESCRIPTION:WebinarThis is a webinar and it will be delivered via Zoom. This webinar is part of the EUWIN and Bridges 5.0 programme of events.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkplace innovation has a long tradition in the German Automotive Industry. Inspired by Volvo’s experiments\, German car companies throughout the 1980s and 1990s implemented various forms of participation-oriented forms of teamwork granting autonomy to shopfloor workers. Although work organisation has been modified during the last two to three decades\, the automotive industry is still a stronghold of worker participation in Germany. \n\n\n\nThe webinar looks into current developments in the German automotive industry. How is the ongoing dual transformation of decarbonisation and digitalisation impacting workplace innovation for shopfloor workers? Based on case studies in German OEM and suppliers\, the webinar will discuss a polarisation trend within workplace innovation. While the core workforces of OEM and large suppliers enjoy relatively stable forms of workplace innovation\, the opportunities for contingent workers and the employees of suppliers are shrinking.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscover the full Programme and book your place. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nView the programme\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHajo HolstUniversität Osnabrück\, Germany\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEUWIN (the European Workplace Innovation Network) is a community of researchers and practitioners from business\, public policy\, research and social partner organisations. Its remit is to promote workplace practices that lead to simultaneous improvements in organisational performance and quality of working life for employees. First established by the European Commission in 2013\, EUWIN is now funded and managed by a network of international partners. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBridging human & digital potential.
