Fresh Thinking Labs is an accessible and targeted platform for everyone looking for ideas and practical support for WORKPLACE INNOVATION. Much more than a database, it builds one-to-one and group relationships. It facilitates dialogue and knowledge sharing between members with common interests and challenges in open or closed communities. Members can also search and connect with other members based on their profile, interests and expertise. Members can take part in Masterclasses, Sofinars and Workshops , and share our unique portfolio of Online learning resources and The Essential Fifth Element Diagnostic to support workplace innovation in their organisation.
Fresh Thinking Lab Facilitators will pay close attention to the needs and interests of members and will regularly identify opportunities for webinars and forums on member-identified themes or facilitated workplace visits hosted by members (at extra cost for Standard and Plus members).
Facilitated Labs are set up by the Regional Facilitators, who are internationally known experts in Workplace Innovation , to form a close group of Members who wish to share knowledge in a specific field or region.
These may be On-line Facilitated Labs where the members share ideas and knowledge through online discussions, online webinars and online meetings.
The Labs may also be “In Person Labs”, where the group will arrange a number of meetings, usually at members’ sites, as well as having online discussions and sharing of resource material.
Fresh Thinking Lab members enjoy access to a unique range of opportunities for sharing knowledge and experience, building professional relationships with like-minded people and collaborating with them on issues of common interest.

"Critical friends" meet again
Following the successful inaugural meeting of the Creative Workplace Group hosted by the Met Office last June, there have been two further meetings of this In-person Lab. In February the day-long event was hosted by CWG Grimshaw Architects at their London Office. This was followed by a visit to Red Gate, which is a software company providing “ingeniously simple” tools for technology professionals worldwide.
The members of the Labs’s common purpose is how to introduce innovative ways of working and, in particular, how to secure buy-in for change from senior management. At each meeting the members of the lab act as “critical friends” both learning from the practices of the host company and offering suggestions based on their experiences.
We are delighted to be launching the Good Work, Mental Health and Well-being Lab in association with E.ON, GSK and Transport for London.
The Lab is based on a small, closed network of companies and public sector employers committed to exploring and developing future-focused workplaces that generate positive mental health and well-being for all through healthy and engaging work. Good work supports mental well-being for everyone. Employers increasingly recognise the need to identify and support people with mental health problems but the wider task is to identify and address those workplace practices which build or undermine mental well-being
